West Bay Antiracism Group meeting – May 19

The West Bay Antiracism Group will be holding its next meeting on Thursday, May 19, 2022, 4:00 – 5:30 pm on Zoom. The focus of the meeting will be on Mutual Solidarity, with a particular focus on how Asian Americans work in solidarity with African Americans and how other racial and ethnic groups can learn about solidarity and allyship.

Three Asian American activists will join us for our meeting:

  • Jon Osaki, Executive Director of Japanese Community Youth Council and award-winning filmmaker of “Alternative Facts: The Lies of Executive Order 9066”, “Not Your Model Minority” and most recently, “Reparations”;
  • Rev. Deborah Lee, Executive Director of the Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity,
  • Marion Kwan, civil rights activist and historian, who worked with the Delta Ministry in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in the summers of 1965-66, and member of the Bay Area Veterans for Civil Rights Movement, and former community college counselor serving economically and educationally disadvantaged students at City College of San Francisco”
