Delta Community Presbyterian Church – Contemporary Worship Music Leader

Delta Community Presbyterian Church is seeking a dynamic and passionate Contemporary Worship Music Leader to lead their congregation in vibrant, spirit-filled worship. This role emphasizes blended worship, incorporating contemporary Christian music alongside traditional hymns, fostering an environment of connection with God through music. The ideal candidate will be skilled in leading worship with either guitar or piano and have a heart for creating a welcoming worship atmosphere where people of all backgrounds and musical preferences can experience the presence of God.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead worship services with a blend of contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns, ensuring a balanced worship experience.
  • Select and arrange worship songs that align with the message of the service, the church calendar, and the overall vision of the ministry.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and other ministry leaders to plan and execute worship services that support the church’s mission.
  • Rehearse and develop the worship team, including vocalists and instrumentalists, fostering a spirit of collaboration and excellence.
  • Equip and mentor volunteers in the worship ministry and development in musical skills.
  • Encourage congregational participation in worship.
  • Maintain a personal and professional lifestyle that reflects Christian values and serves as an example for others.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position with flexible hours based on the church’s worship schedule and events.

Core Qualifications:

  • Experience leading worship in a Christian ministry, with a desire to lead in a contemporary worship setting.
  • Proficiency in either guitar or piano.
  • A heart for blended worship, with an appreciation for both contemporary Christian music and traditional hymns.
  • Desire to build a worship team and work with vocalists and musicians of varying skill levels.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well with the pastor, volunteer staff, and musicians.

Other Desirable Skills:

  • Degree or certification in worship ministry, music, or a related field.
  • Experience with worship planning software (e.g., Planning Center, ProPresenter), and other technical aspects of worship (sound, lights, media).

Compensation: Negotiated depending upon experience and availability.
